CBD Oil - Where Do I Start?

The popularity of CBD flowers and oils has grown significantly over recent years.  Advertisements and promotions are just about everywhere on the high street and internet platforms.

There is no getting away from the magnificent benefits experienced from CBD products.  CBD flowers and oils are undeniably one of the most popular choices to remedy ailments or enhance well being.

For the novice, buying CBD flowers and oils can be daunting for those not familiar with it's use.

CBD or cannabidiol as it is known, is extracted from industrial hemp.  The term 'industrial hemp' bares no difference to the term 'hemp'.  In actual fact it's just a more descriptive synonym with regard to it's many uses.

Hemp is a sativa plant and CBD is one of 60 known compounds.

There are many different ways to extract CBD oil from hemp.  Extracted CBD oil needs to be distilled, this ensures that the CBD is isolated.  The term 'supercritical extraction' is when CO2 is used at a specific pressure and temperature.  This then turns the CO2 into a fluid, which will make this solvent the cleanest to use.

Looking out for the term 'supercritical extraction' when purchasing CBD oil will ensure a good product.

In Europe CBD levels in oil are normally 0.2%, although in some countries 0.3% is quite legal.

CBD is non-psychoactive and will not give a feeling of being 'high', whereas THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) (which is one of around 113 cannabinoids found in hemp) will do.

Those who cultivate industrial hemp are thankfully subject to rigorous and regular analysis.

It is not uncommon to receive a certificate with your purchase of CBD flowers or oils.  Any reputable company will supply this as it gives peace of mind and ensures a trustworthy transaction.

Costs will vary quite significantly too, but like everything else, it is wise to do some research first, shop around and then make an informed choice.
